I am pleased to announce the gallery has been upgraded and can be accessed using the link in the upper right corner of this site, or here.  This gallery has even been cited by Wikipedia editors in order to cite claims of programming, additional cities on legal ID screens, whether two or more stations carry identical programming and IDs, and origin station of translators.

Looking forward to DX conditions starting to improve in the spring. My automated TV scanner picked up WRSP (Fox 55, RF 44) out of Springfield in the past 24 hours. They were originally supposed to repack on 1/17/2020 (phase 7) but were granted a delay to phase 9. KDTL-LD in St. Louis is now transmitting just 1 program stream, Retro, on 16.2. Daystar is gone from 16.1.  Looks like Daystar has gone to KUMO-LD 32, although I cannot receive that signal at my location at this […]
- [New graphics and branding at KTVI/KPLR](https://www.joelwnelson.com/2020/01/new-graphics-and-branding-at-ktvi-kplr/): Just in time for the “Big Game”, KTVI “Fox 2” and KPLR “News 11” have rolled out an updated graphics and branding package. The graphics appear to be in line with other Nexstar-owned stations. A new combined website for the stations, in keeping with Nexstar’s changes in other markets, is probably not far behind.

- [26 December 2019](https://www.joelwnelson.com/2019/12/26-december-2019/): Logged KFSM-TV Fort Smith, AR at 290 miles last night. This is a new record, besting the previous record of WREG Memphis. I have logged no notable FM reception in the past few weeks. On the morning of the 23rd, multiple mid-Missouri stations logged, but none I haven’t received at home before. Driving south on I-270 in St. Louis County that same afternoon, once out of close listening range of KCFV, I did get KOPN-FM on 89.5 (which I can’t get at home due to the strength of KCFV).

Due to how often it comes in, I will be amending the dial guide for 88.5 to list both KMST and WGCA. While this morning it was primarily WGCA, I did also hear KMST in the background. KMST has come in nearly every morning the past month, although WGCA is the stronger signal during the late morning, afternoon and evening hours. - [21 October 2019](https://www.joelwnelson.com/2019/10/21-october-2019/): Reception is very standard this morning.  Getting KMST on 88.5 but that is becoming a new normal. 88.9 – NPR station, probably KSEF 89.3 – NPR station, probably WIPA 99.7 – KTTR cutting in on WXAJ which remains strongest 105.1 – WGEM On 106.1, K291CW is the strongest signal – has been more intermittent lately despite only being a few miles away. And on 107.1, WEAI is back for the first morning since Sept. 19 – has been solidly K296HA since. Today, K296HA is still present but WEAI is much stronger.

On I-270 this signal comes in between about miles 5 and 10. It also comes in north of I-270 to south of New Poag Road on IL 255.  North and east of there, 99.7 is WXAJ Hillsboro/Springfield.  West of mile 5 and even as far as the Chain of Rocks Bridge, the signal is sometimes still audible but WXAJ tends to be more dominant. (Signal graph times are EDT.) At about 12:30 AM CDT, it appears WGEM-TV’s signal on UHF channel 19 was activated, as evidenced by my loss of reception of KPTN-LD at that time (and a huge jump in signal strength on channel 19 at the exact same time on another logger located near Quincy in Payson, IL). - [28 September 2023 (AM 1380)](https://www.joelwnelson.com/2023/09/28-september-2023-am/): I was driving around Florissant yesterday evening around 9 PM listening to the weak but audible signal of KXFN 1380 (St. Louis), with a 1000 watt night signal located on the other end of the metro area from my location. However, there was significant heavy interference from an EWTN Radio affiliate, sometimes to the point that the EWTN signal fully took over the frequency. A cursory search of EWTN affiliates suggests that this may have been WPYR Baton Rouge, however, WPYR is supposed to turn the power down to 62 watts at night. Seems perhaps that didn’t happen last night?
